The Growth in Transition initiative brings together transformation activists and decision makers from politics, science, the economy and civil society and invites them to rethink questions concerning economic growth, well-being and the quality of life.
Back in 2008 Growth in Transition was initiated by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, the Environment and Water Management (BMLFUW) and since then is supported by more than 20 partner organisations including federal ministries, universities, social partners, private enterprises and NGOs.
What emerged is a diverse network of various institutions putting forward discourses on a sustainable economy and society. Furthermore the initiative Growth in Transition tries to ally with similar networks on a european level.
The 3rd international Growth in Transition-conference titled “How constraints make us grow. Society in Transition” is jointly organized by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, the Environment and Water Management (BMLFUW) and Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU)
