31 March 2019 –
Spend a creative Sunday afternoon with Rob Hopkins, the founder of the Transition Town Movement, to imagine a sustainable future for the city. Transition towns have always been places of imagination – and even more important they have brought imagination into action – creating solutions that have made people and planet happier. With examples of best practices, Rob Hopkins will explain how to utilise the power of imagination for action towards a sustainable future. In this talk you will be able to receive insights of Rob Hopkins new book, which will be released in autumn this year.
15 - 16:00 THE TALK
Why are we so aware of the sustainability crisis we are in but so unable to do something against it? Have we lost our capability to imagine and will this actually backfire on our capability to deal with climate change and other sustainability crisis humanity is facing today? Transition towns have always been places of imagination and even more important they have brought imagination into action creating solutions that have made people and planet happier. With examples from transition towns Rob Hopkins will argue for giving imagination room again so that we can utilise its power for the transformation to a sustainable future.
18:30 WORKSHOP FOR CHANGE MAKERS
Target groups: Organisations, initiatives & sustainability driven entrepreneurs working on changing Vienna. With an ever-increasing feeling of emergency, we as civil society have to think about new ways of reaching our goals towards sustainability – aka the Great Transformation. We want to use this workshop with Rob Hopkins to openly discuss & brainstorm how we could get a transformation process in Vienna started that will change the face of the city noticeably in the next 5 -10 years.
