The book -entitled „Which growth is sustainable? A presentation of arguments” (original title in German: “Welches Wachstum ist nachhaltig? Ein Argumentarium”)- was published by Mandelbaum at the beginning of May 2009. So far there is only a German edition, but an English rendition is already planned. It is the result of this project and targets the interested public as well as experts. Starting from the sustainable development strategy of the EU, it compiles arguments for “alternative growth” focussing on concepts of human quality of life and well-being. In addition to the presentation of arguments, which were developed by SERI and Karuna Consult, the book comprises 13 accompanying commentaries from selected experts. Commentators are: Andreas Breitenfellner (ÖNB), Helga Kromp-Kolb (BOKU), Hildegard Aichberger und Andreas Zednicek (WWF), Rosa Lyon (Ö1), Caroline Haberfellner und Matthias Gruber (BMF), Dietmar Kanatschnig (ÖIN), Fred Luks (Bank Austria), Wolfgang Schwarzbauer und Ulrich Schuh (IHS), Ina Meyer (WIFO), Michaela Moser (Armutskonferenz), Judith Pühringer (BDV), Niko Paech (Universität Oldenburg) and Hans Christoph Binswanger (Universtität St. Gallen). An outline of the book can be downloaded here (in German).
